Meet Johnny Cash, the singing dog!  He bursts into song on a whim, out of the blue.  If you sing, he will raise his head way up and join you in his best opera voice.  Impress your friends on a group call!  He also sings to his favorite music on tv or radio.  He is selective about his song choices, but once he starts, he might give you an entire concert.  It’s hilarious!

This baby-faced sweetheart wants nothing more than to be adored and loved by you.  He is a happy, affectionate boy.

When sweet Johnny was born in early 2014, he had a genetic defect with femurs that are bowed and twisted, giving his knees an awkward angle and giving him a wonky stance where he walks on his tippy-toes. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done to fix this, but it doesn't slow him down.  He can climb steps and get up on the couch or in to the recliner with no problems.

Johnny is a good-sized boy at 95 pounds.  He needs to keep his weight there or a little less, so he can remain agile.  He still likes to play!

Johnny needs to be the only dog in his family.  Placing him with other dogs could lead to disaster.  When other dogs near him get up to move, he jumps up and growls at them.  Maybe he feels compromised by his unstable legs and is afraid of being hurt; he goes on offense.  He is equally uncomfortable around dogs in day care.

He is totally fine with cats.

He hopes for people who spend most of their time at home with him.  He is a homebody - happiest being cozy with his people and taking an occasional romp around the yard.  He wants to be included in everything you do.

He needs help getting into a car, but he is a fantastic rider!  He is house trained and crate trained.

The only thing Johnny asks of you is if you will please run the vacuum cleaner while he is outside for the moment?  That wild contraption is the scariest thing in the world!

People in the home should always be aware that his balance isn’t the best, so they shouldn’t lean on him or rough-house with him.  If there are children in the home, they should be old enough to understand how to be polite with him.

Johnny really is a pleasure to have around.  Who can resist a singing dog?  Karaoke anyone?  Duet with your best buddy?

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
