OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI

Meet Ernie!  Born around February 2020, he is a Pyr mix of undeniable sweetness. Found on the streets of a local town with a hitchhiking case of distemper, this miracle pup sailed through recovery with no neurological damage or lasting effects.

Ernie is the sweetest little muffin and is done with the most demanding part of puppyhood.  Already about 50 pounds at almost 16 weeks, Ernie will be a big boy and top out at well over 100 pounds, possibly up to 120.

Equal parts giant lap dog and playfully adventurous explorer, Ernie will dig holes, run in circles and chew sticks outside for hours, then come inside and rub his giant paws all over you contently as you rub his belly.

His habit of sleeping with his tongue out gives him an endearingly doofy quality, but make no mistake - this boy is smart.  He is already potty trained and will paw the door to ask to go out; he knows “sit,” and is working on “shake.”

He is crate trained and loves his crate.  He often puts himself down for a nap in it during the day.  He prefers to eat off the floor rather than from a bowl.

He must have a large, playful canine companion in his forever home.

If you’re looking for a Pyr to go on hikes with, this boy just might be it once he reaches adulthood.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
