OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI

Meet Zorro!  This bandit will steal your heart!  He will be a big boy as an adult.  He weighed in at 37 pounds at just 12 weeks of age, and there’s no doubt he’ll be at least 80-85 fully grown.  More to love!

Zorro is one of six pups born to SPIN mamma Amy, who came into rescue with a surprise – she was hiding a litter of puppies in her belly!

His foster mom had a DNA test done on his brother.  Their amazing heritage is 50% Great Pyrenees, 12.5% Alaskan Malamute, 12.5% Labrador Retriever, and 25% Herding group.

Zorro’s coloring was initially darker and created a bandit mask across his eyes.  His color has softened as he’s grown, but those eyes are still his dominant feature.

He is the sweetest of his litter.  He’s the most gentle and very quiet.  When you approach him, he automatically flops down and rolls onto his back for belly rubs and petting.

While he is normally very quiet and loving, he sure can get wound up and wild when the group gets going!   He needs a large, playful doggy companion in his forever home.  (If you don’t already have one of those, adopt a buddy for him from us!)  This dog pal will help Zorro continue maturing into a well-mannered, polite family member.  He also needs a person who is home much of the day while he gets through his puppy phase.

Zorro loves his toys and will never turn down a cookie.  He has a great time chasing the laser light with his great big stomping feet!  He’s found a few frogs in the yard to jump around with as well.  Awkward puppy jumping is the best entertainment!

He’s very curious about the foster family cat.  They’ve played and given one another snuggles.

Due to the current situation with covid-19, Zorro has not had a lot of interaction with people or their pets.  He has met several children in his front yard, and he really enjoyed their attention and petting.

He does very well in the car, settling in quickly and relaxing for the drive.  He does well on leash, although that has been limited experience.

Zorro is a very mellow pup.  He’s a little too mellow when it comes to housebreaking.  He’s just not in that big a hurry to figure it out!  He’s doing very well, but has a little more work to do.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
