OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI

Meet Dot! We also affectionately call her Dottie, Dot-Dot, and Polka Dot. This precious, happy girl was born around October 2019.

Her gorgeous markings make her look like she has eyeliner around her soulful eyes, reminding us of Cleopatra. Her smooshy, kissable snout is covered with adorable dots, hence her name!

Dot is such a loving, chill young lady. She adores being with her foster people and her furry foster siblings. She happily follows her people wherever they go throughout the day. Dot is usually side-by-side with one of the other dogs in the house, and she typically has a toy in her mouth!  She is either bouncing around with another dog, investigating what she can do with one of her toys, or napping by human feet.

Dot is one of the most calm and well-behaved puppies her foster family has ever seen!  She is fully potty trained and has even learned to hit the back door when she needs to go out and do her business. She is crate trained, but has no need to be locked in it at night; she uses it as a bed. She goes through the whole night without making a peep, and likes to sleep in, which is awesome!

This sweet baby really enjoys the company of the other dogs in the house. There are two older Pyrs she tries to emulate, and loves being with them. She is also thick as thieves with a little terrier mix. The two of them will run around like rockets in tandem for about 15 minutes, and then Dot needs a nap for several hours!

Dot has been a polite young lady while both of her foster parents are working from home. She keeps herself busy and out of trouble. She has only barked once in the last two weeks!

While Dot is extremely affectionate with people she knows, she is very shy and cautious with new people. It took several days for her to stop being nervous in her foster home. She would hide in her crate or behind the furniture until she warmed up to the family.  Now she is their shadow.   Since they have been following social distancing rules during the pandemic, Dot still needs more practice meeting strangers.  Based on her history, she would likely adjust to her forever family in a short time and bring them immense joy every day.

Dot is a smart little girl. She learned “sit,” “come inside,” and “treat” very quickly. She is afraid of her harness and leash right now.  Her foster family is slowly introducing her to these strange objects, and based on how quickly she has picked up everything else, they are confident that once she realizes it does not always mean something scary is going to happen, she will do just fine.

Dot is very affectionate and will do best in a home where her family is around for at least part of the day, and has time to give her the love and attention she craves.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
