OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.
Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI
Meet Lucille! We also call her Lucy. This happy, fun-loving girl was born around September 2019.
For her, every day is full of joy and excitement! She is curious about everything. She bounces around the house with a smile on her face and loves to follow wherever her foster parents go.
She has been hanging out with her foster family in the front yard in the evenings to say hello to the neighbors and everyone who walks by absolutely adores her. She is already becoming a favorite in the neighborhood.
Lucy is very playful and energetic for a Pyrenees. She loves to run around the backyard and play with the 3-year old Pyr that lives in her foster home. She needs a home where she has another playful dog to run around with. Once she’s had a good 15 minutes of play time, she’s ready to run back in the house for some quiet time and a nap.
Lucy loves, loves, loves to play with toys! There is a big basket of toys in her foster home and she can entertain herself all day pulling them all out. She likes to take them to different areas of the house, leave them there and then go play with something else. Elk horns and hard bones also keep her occupied and are likely the reason why she has not tried to chew on any shoes or furniture.
Lucy is super curious. She wants to explore every room of the house, every yard on her walks, and every inch of every closet in the house. She can sometimes be found adorably sleeping in a closet.
Lucy does not pose as a distraction while both her foster parents are working from home right now. She generally keeps herself busy and if she starts to bark, a quick “no” keeps her quiet. She never barks at night and sleeps through the night without requiring a crate.
Lucy is very affectionate and will do best in a home where her family is not gone all day and has time give her the love and attention she craves.
Lucy is fully house trained and loves her daily walks. She would do best in a home where her family has the time to take her out on regular walks. She gets a little nervous at first in the car but after a few minutes she relaxes and sits happily in the backseat.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
