OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.
Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/3aoG4Ia_9P0
Meet Duke! This zen puppy is just waiting to meet his soulmate. Could it be you?
Sweet Duke was born around May 2019. He weighs 77 pounds and is still filling out. His ideal adult weight will probably be around 85-90 pounds.
In his young life, Duke has had more changes than he’d like, leaving him apprehensive in new situations. After first arriving in his new foster home, it took him a couple of days to allow anyone to touch him. Within a few days, he turned into a happy boy. With the right forever family, he could settle in quickly.
Duke is a hang-back, check-it-out young dog. He is not in your face or pushy. He is like a hesitant wallflower when first meeting you, and he prefers that new people approach him slowly and calmly.
Once he’s sure he’s safe, his tail curls up high and happy over his back. While he might not immediately be ready to be your new BFF, just give him a little time, and he will have your heart forever!
Duke likes every dog he meets, and he likes playing with them. He has nice dog-to-dog manners, and he is adept at avoiding confrontation. He will even relinquish his food if another dog comes to take it!
He needs a big doggy playmate in his forever home. If you don’t already have a fur buddy for him, adopt one from us!
Duke is happy in the safety in his home and yard. He is not interested in escaping to explore on his own. He loves being outside in the fresh air. Inside, he loves going into his crate where he feels safe and protected.
He is house trained, pet-door trained, leash trained, and crate trained. Due to his passive nature, we think he would be nice to house cats. We can find out for sure if needed.
Are you ready to find the love of your life?
