Meet Irving! This wonderful, happy young boy was born around March 2019. He has the best grin! At one year of age, he weighed around 80 pounds, and will likely be around 95-100 when he finishes filling out.
Irving’s original family intended him to be a livestock guardian dog, but he said, “No, thank you. I want to be an indoor dog!” The family turned him over to SPIN so he can be his happiest self.
He is a happy guy who loves to be held and loved on. He even allows you to dress him in silly costumes! He loves being around children and adults.
Sweet Irving has had two bad experiences with male dogs, so we recommend that any forever doggy friends are female.
He walks well on leash – until he sees a rabbit! He needs a little more practice to understand that he can’t chase critters when he’s being walked.
Mr. Beautiful rides nicely in a car as long as he is blocked from getting in the front where he wants to ride in your lap! Hard to drive with a 90-pound dog between you and the steering wheel.
He is house trained and crate trained. He is generally not much of a barker.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
