OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy.
3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.
Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/3aoG4Ia_9P0
Meet Adalaide! In this quick video, she is the pup in front, cleaning the paws of her furry foster brother. https://youtu.be/x_14p4QHNYk
Sweet Adalaide is a loveable and curious puppy. She is shy when first meeting new people, then she turns on the charm.
She was born around August 2019. At five months of age, she weighed a healthy 45 pounds. She will probably be Pyrfectly sized as an adult, around 80 pounds.
Delightful Adalaide lives to play! She likes Kongs and bones with peanut butter. Her favorite toy is her Pyr foster brother! She follows him everywhere.
She loves playing and wrestling with her foster doggy friends. When playing with them, she barks as if saying “chase me!” In her forever home, she needs a big, playful dog companion to complete her life and to continue teaching her proper dog manners. (You can adopt a dog buddy for her from us!)
She has a lot of energy during play time, and loves zooming around the yard. Even if she encounters a mud puddle, she sweetly sits for a bucket bath when mom says so. After play time and bath time, she settles contentedly into Pyr lounge position.
She is house trained and leash trained. After being coaxed or lifted into a car, she lays down and rides nicely.
She is crate trained; she sleeps in her kennel at night, and stays in it with a toy sometimes during the day.
We think she would live in harmony with house cats, because she hasn’t shown any prey drive.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
