Single White Male Seeking Forever Family

Hi there!  I’m Sage and I was born in May of 2019.  If I could choose one word to describe myself it would be relaxed. I’m just a go with the flow kind of guy who gets along with everyone. I’m seeking a family to call my own that doesn’t mind a lazy Saturday snoozing on the cold tile floor or sunning in the backyard. I enjoy short walks in the neighborhood and watching football with my people and dog friends. I’ve recently left two short term relationships; I was homeless for a while and then lived in a small apartment. Both of those scenarios were not ideal for me. I’m looking for a home with a fenced backyard of any size.

Most recently I’ve been in a foster home in the DFW area with a great family that has a dog, several cats and two kids for me to play with. I get along great with all types of dogs, cats and people.

I would describe my physique as fluffy. I have blond hair and deep brown eyes. At 4 months old, I weigh 52 pounds and could be expected to weigh about 125 when I’m done growing. I’m a big guy but that just means there’s more to love. I’m not a picky eater and I am always excited to try new and different shapes of ice. I like chew toys, rope toys and rawhides. I love to play tug of war with my doggy friend and chase him around the house and backyard.  (Speaking of dogs, I’d need to have another dog in my forever home to continue teaching me how to be a great pet. If you don’t have a dog currently, you can adopt two of us!)

I have excellent house manners. I’m potty trained, crate trained, walk well on a leash and love riding in the car to take my humans to school.  I occasionally bark to let you know when the cats are trying to steal my food or when someone is at the door, but overall I’m very quiet for a Pyr. I need reminders not to dig in the backyard.  I love water and would be super happy at a house with a pool or even a kiddie pool to splash in. I do not jump and I am gentle around small humans so I’d be a great brother for kids of all ages.

By the way, not to brag but, I’m also super smart.  I understand several commands including sit, stay, outside, crate and no.  I like to work on obedience skills with small treats as rewards. I am easily redirected when I’m doing something that I shouldn’t and I’m eager to please my new forever family and learn their rules. In short, I’m a catch!

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
