Meet Tate!  Born around January 2019, he is a pint-sized puppy with a small frame.  We expect his ideal adult weight will be around 60-70 pounds when he finishes growing.

When he came into rescue from the shelter, he was malnourished and very thin.  His coat was ragged and in poor condition.  In foster care, he is putting on much-needed healthy weight, his coat is becoming thick and lush, and he found his smile again.

Little Tate is very sweet, shy, and low key.  He is friendly, yet a little reserved with people.  He has a calm and relaxed demeanor, and he is gentle with children and cats.

He is even calm when playing with toys!  He prefers to lay and chew them rather than toss them around.

He likes playing with other dogs that are respectful to him.  He enjoys their company and returns their respect.  He needs a big, playful doggy companion in his forever home.  This playmate will keep him company and help build his confidence.  If you don’t already have a furry playmate for him, you can adopt one from us!

Tate is leash trained, dog-door trained, rides nicely in a car, and is nice to cats.

He really enjoys being outdoors, and he hopes his forever home has a nice yard for him to enjoy.  He relishes snoozing on cool grass or on a shaded porch.

He is generally quiet, barking sometimes at people and animals that are outside his fence, but not so much during play.

He would probably do best in a less active forever home where he can get lots of human attention.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
