OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not good situation for you or the puppy.
3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.
Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/3aoG4Ia_9P0
Meet Leck! This sweet 60-pound dumpling was born around March 2019. He will likely be around 100 pounds when he’s all grown up.
Leck’s nickname is Big Lug for his very sweet and loving disposition, his deep soulful eyes, and his beautiful huge head. He’s just such a gentle giant, you’ll fall in love!
He is so huggable, and he loves getting affection. He’ll sit next to you and just look up longingly for a pet; he really enjoys a good, long, scruffy pet and hugs. Who can resist? He does not give many kisses, but hugs you and rests his paw on you instead.
He is such a happy boy! He sweetly perks up his fluffy ears when you talk to him. He smiles all the time!
He is full of puppy energy, and likes to go, go go! He loves playing with toys, especially the kind where he can find peanut butter! He loves running around the yard, getting all wound up, then coming inside to doze.
He even likes playing in a water fountain! In a swimming pool, he prefers lounging on the tanning shelf. He is excellent when being bathed! When taken into a walk-in shower, Leck just sits and enjoys the pampering.
He gets along easily with all dogs he meets. He says, “The more, the merrier!” In his forever home, Leck needs at least one big, playful doggy companion that is strong enough to withstand the powerful paw he uses to pin his opponents to the ground! He plays happily with the medium-sized dogs in his foster home, does well with his Great Dane friend, and is very sweet to smaller puppies. If you don’t have a playmate for him, adopt one from us!
Baby Leck picks up lessons very quickly and is eager to please. He kennels very well; in fact, he puts himself to bed at night if you’re up later than he’d like! He has already learned commands such as sit, off, come, and down.
He is house trained and rides happily in a car. He’s good on a leash, until he doesn’t want to be! Then he just sits his 60-pound rump down and mopes!
He is not much of a barker, only vocalizing sometimes during play.
He is very polite and calm for a puppy. He hasn’t yet gotten on furniture, even though it’s allowed in his foster home. When company comes, he doesn’t bark or jump.
He is curious about housecats and is friendly toward them.
Leck is going to make someone very happy. He’s truly a sweetheart of a guy.
