Meet Deja and Rooney! During their time in foster care, they became a bonded pair and can't bear to be apart. They love playing and being silly with one another. They must be adopted together into the same forever family, so they can remain BFFs.
Deja is a beautiful female who was born around January 2018. She weighs about 75 pounds.
When she came into rescue, Deja had to be shaved because her fur was so horribly matted. Her coat has not really come back as nicely as it likely was before becoming matted. It might forever grow in odd lengths in different spots, she is still gorgeous!
Sweet Deja has sensitive skin and a sensitive stomach which require a little extra TLC. She is on a special probiotic, fish oil, special food, monthly cortisone shots, and daily Zyrtec between shots. As a bonus, the special treatment seems to be helping her coat.
She needs to be fed in a quiet area where she can chow at her comfortable methodical pace.
Occasionally she will throw up her food if she tries to eat too fast.
Her bestie Rooney, is a handsome, 80-pound male who was born around September 2018. He is such a good boy. He sweetly loves to have his legs and belly massaged.
These two beauties love having a big yard where they can play and lounge. They love running the property in tandem, barking to keep squirrels, rabbits, birds, airplanes, motorcycles, and four-wheelers at bay. Deja will bellow at contrails from planes and Rooney will pick up his toy and run with glee.
They are big diggers of holes to nowhere! They need fencing that is built to prevent them from digging out.
They are house trained, and are used to having a pet door to use at will. They are leash trained and ride nicely in a car. They have no need for a crate.
Because Deja and Rooney are still in their rambunctious stage, children in the home should be older than age ten. And Rooney is terrified of loud children. Any kids in the home should be mature enough that they do not rush him, grab him, or scream.
We don’t know how they are around housecats, but based on Deja’s enthusiasm when chasing rabbits and squirrels, cats might not be safe around her.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere.
