Meet Richard!  This laid-back, handsome fella was born around October 2016.  He is very tall and full-grown at 90 pounds.

Sweet Richard was hit by a car prior to coming into rescue.  His shoulder nerves were damaged, so he walks a bit strangely with that leg.  He has learned to flip his paw so that he can walk correctly on that foot.  It doesn't really slow him down or seem to bother him.

He is a social butterfly!  He loves to meet everyone he sees, and he just loves going to public places with you.  Since his injury causes him to tire quickly, his walks should be kept to a short distance.

This irresistible boy loves doing everything he can to make his humans happy.  When you pet him, he leans his head softly into you.  After one look into his mesmerizing eyes, you will be smitten forever!

He is such a joy to have around.  He is sometimes a goofball!   He is playful with his humans, and he gets excited about following his foster mom around the yard.  He can hardly contain his joy sometimes and jumps in utter delight!  He loves having a yard where he can expend some of his excess energy.

He likes to be with other dogs, and he needs at least one female canine companion in his forever home.  He gets along great with the girl big dogs in his foster home, and he allows them to be boss.  He is a total gentleman to his older furry foster siblings.

His doggy friends should play gently, because Richard can get hurt when he forgets about his limited movement.

He does fine with housecats; he has zero interest in them.

Richard is house trained, rides nicely in a car, and knows the basics of walking on leash.

His forever home should be one-story tall with no stairs inside or out. He needs easy access to his people and his creature comforts.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
