Meet Ernie!  He is on the small side, and appears to have been on his own for some time, as he is very skinny at 65 pounds.  We think he will be about 80 pounds when he finishes filling out.

Just look at that gorgeous face!  He is such a sweet dog and seems to have an old soul.  He loves meeting new people; he just needs a slow approach as he learns to trust again. He gets along nicely with other dogs, and he is happy letting them be boss.

He is starting to be playful; he kicks his front leg out to the side when he gets excited!

Ernie is very mellow.  He is not interested in going over a fence or chasing squirrels.  He spends most of his time lounging on a bed by the back door or on the covered porch in the back yard.

He only barks a little.  He will bark to come in the house, if someone is in the alley while he is outside, or if the other dogs are barking.

Ernie is leash trained and just loves riding in a car!  We are still working on his house training, and he is eager to figure out what we’re asking.   He has the potential to be a fabulous dog as he tries very hard to do the right thing.

Ernie follows the other dogs in and out of the house but pretty much stays to himself.  Since coming in as a stray, he is making quick strides in learning to be a house dog, and learning to accept love from people.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
