Meet Archer! This handsome boy was born around 6/6/2014, and he is full-sized at around 95 pounds.
He is a super sweet, affectionate, loving boy who is really enjoying the indoor life and attention of humans after his life on the farm with only the attention of sheep and goats. He loves to be petted and will stay next to you all day. He will follow you from room to room and seek your attention. He understands "all done" when it's time to do your work, and he will go to another room if you ask him to leave you.
Archer is very attentive and smart. He catches on quickly. He seems happy to please you. He has potential to be a well-trained therapy dog. He does not get on your furniture and is not at all destructive.
Archer gets along great with female dogs, but can be a bit grouchy around males. He would be okay with a submissive male that lets him be the alpha boy, but might try to challenge another alpha male. If his humans were around the house most of the time, he would probably be just fine without another dog. He seems to enjoy human attention more than dog companionship, and does not play with the other dogs much.
Archer is house trained, leash trained, and rides nicely in a car. He comes when called from outside. He is not much of a barker; he is mostly quiet. He is not big on giving Pyr paw, and he doesn’t jump on people.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
