Meet Cayla! Born around 7/1/2016, this sweet, young girl is petite at only 55 pounds. She still has some growing to do and will likely be around 65-70 pounds once she fills out.
Cay-Love absolutely loves people. She is thriving in her foster home where she is adored by her foster family. When a new person comes to the house, she is the first to greet them and stay by their side.
She is always excited to meet new people and wants love and affection from everyone she sees!
She is very loveable and is happiest being in the same room as her humans. She is great with kids and adults. Because of her relatively low energy level, she would probably be fine living with seniors/elderly also. She could likely be happy in an apartment also.
Cayla came into rescue with a leg injury. SPIN made sure she got the surgery she needed, and she is making a remarkable recovery. She still has a limp on her back leg, but is otherwise living a completely normal life. She enjoys her daily walks and patrolling the backyard. Because of her very recent surgery, a lot of stairs is probably not a good idea for her for now.
If Cayla is placed in a home with other canines, she prefers males and low energy dogs. She is fairly laid back and does not seem extremely interested in playtime. However this may be a result of her leg injury so might change once she gets her strength back. She can hang out happily alongside other calm dogs. She would also probably be fine as an only dog as long as she gets adequate time and attention from her people.
Little Miss is a well-mannered lady. She loves playing and sleeping with her stuffed toys. She is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. She is doing fine with the four-foot fence at her foster home. She’s not yet completely at ease riding in a car, but will likely get better with practice. While she is very vigilant about protecting her foster home from the evil UPS, FedEx, and mail carriers, she is otherwise fairly low-key and laid back.
We don’t know how she is with cats, but can find out if needed.
Cayla thoroughly enjoys life and will continue to flourish with a forever family who gives her the love she deserves. She is looking for her perfect human companion who she can love and adore in return.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
