OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not good situation for you or the puppy.
3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.
Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/3aoG4Ia_9P0
Meet Maypearl! She was born around 07/01/2017, and is an absolute doll! At only 55 pounds, she is quite petite for a Pyr. She still has some growing to do, but she likely won’t be more than 65-70 pounds once she is full grown.
Maypearl is a happy, fun-loving girl, and every day is the best day of Maypearl’s life! Everything she does excites her and she is thrilled with every moment of her day. Breakfast – best meal ever! Yard time with friends – best play time ever! Walk time – best walk ever! Crate time – best nap ever! Dinner – best meal ever! Bed time – that was the best day ever! Everything is amazing and fun to this girl, so if you are looking for a companion to enjoy life with, this is your girl.
Little Miss Cheerful is thriving in her foster home and is adored by her foster family. She has quickly become a favorite in her neighborhood and loves to play with a neighboring Labrador. She has met many children on the block and she enjoys their hugs.
She is an exceptional athlete and can scale any height chain link fence like a monkey! She can easily climb a six-foot fence wooden fence like a ladder when the crossbars are on the inside. She needs an eight-foot wooden fence, or a six-foot wooden one with crossbars on the outside, or a wrought iron one with no climbable support bars.
Maypearl is very playful and energetic for a Pyr. She is a silly, goofy baby. She loves to run around the backyard, chase squirrels, and romp with other dogs. She loves to play with her furry foster siblings; she likes to jump on them and tease them into playing with her. She needs a home with a canine companion who will play with her daily and burn off some of her puppy energy. While she is quite active, providing her lots of bones or elk horns to chew on keeps her occupied and out of mischief.
She does well in the house while her foster family is home, and goes to her crate when they are gone and at bedtime to keep her from getting into trouble.
Maypearl is very affectionate and will do best in a home where her family is not gone all day and has time give her the love and attention she craves.
This beauty should be an active home where she has a yard to expend her energy. She should be in a home that doesn’t have any children younger than five years old; because she is so playful, she could knock down small children.
She is crate trained and walks beautifully on leash. So far, she is not much of a barker; she will join the others when they are vocalizing, but doesn’t do it on her own, yet. We don't know how she is with cats, but we can find out if needed.
Maypearl is available for adoption exclusively in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She rides nicely in a car and jumps in happily; however, she gets car sick. We don’t want to cause her to travel any further than necessary.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
