OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not good situation for you or the puppy.
3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.
Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/3aoG4Ia_9P0
Meet Annette! This energetic puppy was born around 5/1/2017. When she’s full-grown, she’ll probably be around 85 pounds.
This silly puppy loves playing in water! She loves splashing in her kiddie pool, so we can only imagine what she’d do with a big-people pool! No doubt she will love treks to play in the creek, pond, lake, or ocean! She prefers trouncing in water over playing with toys.
She likes dogs her size or larger. She loves playing with the dogs in her foster home. In fact, we require that she live with an adult dog that can mentor her and show her how to be a proper puppy. (If you don’t have an adult dog, you can adopt one from us!)
She loves being outside and she craves a yard to play in, so apartment living is not the best situation for her at this stage.
She learns quickly. In the short time she’s been in foster care after coming from an animal shelter, she already comes when called, is crate trained, is learning that a leash is not a bad thing and is getting better at leash-walking, she sleeps through the night without having an accident, and she is house trained as long as she is let outside every three hours. (Remember, she has a puppy-sized bladder right now.)
She is not yet fond of getting in a car, but she rides well after she’s in it. She is not much of a barker, but she will join the other dogs if they are vocalizing about something.
She loves people of all ages including children. She loves to sleep by your feet on the floor; she’s a great foot warmer!
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
