OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not good situation for you or the puppy.
3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.
Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/3aoG4Ia_9P0
Meet Frankie! He was born around 5/1/2017. When he’s full-grown, he’ll probably be around 95 pounds.
This silly puppy loves playing in water! He loves splashing in his kiddie pool, so we can only imagine what he’d do with a big-people pool! No doubt he will love treks to play in the creek, pond, lake, or ocean! He prefers trouncing in water over playing with toys.
He likes dogs his size or larger. He loves playing with the dogs in his foster home. In fact, we require that he live with an adult dog that can mentor his and show his how to be a proper puppy. (If you don’t have an adult dog, you can adopt one from us!)
He loves being outside and he craves a yard to play in, so apartment living is not the best situation for his at this stage.
He learns quickly. In the short time he’s been in foster care after coming from an animal shelter, he already comes when called, is crate trained, is learning that a leash is not a bad thing and is getting better at leash-walking, he sleeps through the night without having an accident, and he is house trained as long as he is let outside every three hours. (Remember, he has a puppy-sized bladder right now.)
He is not yet fond of getting in a car, but he rides well after he’s in it. He is not much of a barker, but he will join the other dogs if they are vocalizing about something.
He loves people of all ages including children. He loves to sleep by your feet on the floor; he’s a great foot warmer!
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
