OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/3aoG4Ia_9P0

Meet Jim!  He was born on 8/10/2017.  He has a solid build, and will probably be around 100 pounds when he’s full grown.  He is absolutely gorgeous with his thick, wavy coat with cream accents.

Jim Beau is laid back and people focused.  He is one chill dude!  He moves with calm determination and doesn’t get too excited or rowdy.  He loves a good scratch on the head.   He is so easy to have around the house.  On his way in, he’ll drop by your chair to be sure all is well and then go lay down.

He is great with kids, and can probably be placed in a home with very young children or the elderly.  He doesn’t jump up or get bothered by much.  He would also be fine with apartment living, because he likes being indoors, much more than most Pyrs.

He loves, loves his toys!  He cuddles with them and takes them outside for play time.

He is playful with other dogs.  When one of them decides it’s time to go out the dog door and check on something, he will go along.  In his foster home, he seems drawn to other large dogs rather than the active smaller terrier.  He is respectful of the older dogs, and doesn’t harass them to play.

Like all pups, Jim will benefit from a mentor to show him how dogs should behave.  Because of this, we require that his new home have at least on youthful, playful canine for him to engage with.  (You can adopt one from us!)

Jim Beau is house trained and rides nicely in a car.  He is crate trained, but he really hates it!  He has serious objections to being confined in such a way.  He is not much of a barker, unless joining the commotion started by another.   He doesn’t even try to go over a four-foot fence.

We don’t know how he is with cats, yet, but we can find out if needed.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
