OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not good situation for you or the puppy.
3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.
Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/3aoG4Ia_9P0
Meet Alex and fall in love! This low- key boy was born on 07/04/2017. We expect he’ll be a big 95 pounds when he’s full-grown.
He loves playing with and being around the dogs in his foster home. He would like to have at least one other dog to play chase with in his new home. In fact, we require that he has an active canine playmate in his new home. (If you don’t have one, you can adopt one from us!)
He also loves being around his people.
He loves to follow the cats around! He still needs monitoring when doing so, as he does not know his own Pyr paw strength.
Gorgeous Alex is house trained; his foster mom gives him several outside potty breaks every day. He is working on his crate training; he still whines and cries when going to bed (like a lot of toddlers). He doesn’t yet like walking on leash, so his foster mom is working with him on that, too.
He does great inside and out. He loves to gather his "treasures" around him (towels, socks, shoes, toys - basically anything on the floor or his eye level). He mostly chews on appropriate toys, and is still learning that some things (like your pillows and Christmas ornaments that seem awfully like a toy) are not his.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
