Meet Elvis! He is at once dignified and goofy! This solid 91 pound boy was born around 04/04/2016.
Elvis is a very sweet and affectionate boy who loves to cuddle. He loves his humans so much, he will sit on his back legs and give you double Pyr paw - two paws at a time! He is a Pyr paw expert.
He loves to go on walks; he is great on a leash and doesn't pull. He is house trained and crate trained. While he doesn’t like to get into a car, he rides nicely once he’s in. He is not much of a barker, only speaking up when necessary.
He loves toys, blankets, pillows, and playing with other dogs and humans. Elvis loves to run around the back yard and be chased by his doggy friends and humans. We don’t know yet how he is with kids or cats.
Elvis would do best in an active household where he gets a lot of attention. He would love to have a doggy friend to play with or just a playful human. He still has the energy and curiosity of a puppy and can be a little rough during playtime. He doesn't realize just how big he is.
Elvis was picked up as a stray and became pretty sick in the shelter. When he was released to our rescue group, his foster mom realized quickly that he was not in good shape. He had shut down; he didn’t want to eat or sleep. He just kept his head down and began acting strangely. He was taken to the emergency pet hospital where he was diagnosed with pneumonia. He spent the night receiving fluids, antibiotics, and breathing treatments. After two weeks of treatment, he feels so much better and acts like a totally different dog.
Now Elvis is so happy and full of energy. If you are looking for a dog that that you just “Can’t Help Falling in Love” with, then Elvis is your man. He just wants to be your “Teddy Bear.” (Get it? Elvis Presley songs.)
