OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION:
    1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs.  They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors.  https://youtu.be/3aoG4Ia_9P0

Meet Travis!  He was born around 5/5/2017.  He is going to be a big, big boy, likely topping out at 100 pounds when he’s full grown!

He is a total love and as sweet as can be.  He loves kids, and is willing to be admired by anyone who wishes to lavish their attention upon him.  This is a boy who comes up to people and gives them the “Pyr paw” to say, “I like you.  Pet me.”

His medium-length coat is silky, soft.  And his tail is the envy of many other dogs – it is especially long and luxurious.

Travis is house trained, leash trained, and crate trained.  He is not yet thrilled with the concept of a leash, but he’s getting used to it as he learns that he gets to go places if he tolerates it.

This silly boy is full of puppy antics.  He will entertain you and keep you laughing.  He loves to stretch out as far as his body will go in cool grass or cool dirt, then dozes that way, soaking up the cool outdoors.   He walks around carrying a toy, the stuffed kind are his favorite.  Keep your kitchen towels out of reach, or he will also carry those outside for you, too!

Give him a sofa, and he will be right at home.  He really likes to curl up in a wing-backed chair or a slipper chair, or to stretched full-out on cool flooring.

He loves to play in mud puddles, creeks, and other shallow water sources.  But we don’t think he’s one for a swimming pool.

He gets along great with the other big dogs in his foster home, playing a lot with the big Rottweilers there.  In his forever home, he needs an adult doggy companion to continue showing him how to be a properly behaved pup.

He pays no attention to the stray cats that pass through the yard, and rabbits are also safe around him.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
