Meet Magdalena!  This gorgeous, loving Great Pyrenees was born around 1/1/2014.  Her sweet face has fabulous charcoal and tan badger markings and her nose has kissable little black spots.

This girl was very pregnant when our rescue group accepted her from an animal shelter where she was taken in as a stray.  She gave birth to nine beautiful puppies – all of them white with big black spots.  She has been a great mama!  Now that her puppies are weaned, she is ready for a break and ready for her own forever home.

Magdalena is so sweet and gentle. Despite apparently being a baby making factory for most of her life, she has a face that constantly displays hope. She just leans into you like she is thinking "I am safe now. I am fed now. I am going to be okay!"  When her humans come home, she loves greeting them by putting her head in their lap for scratches.  She’s not one to insist on things with a “Pyr paw,” but rather just rests her head in your lap.

Magdalena is very laid back. The only time she moves quickly is if she sees someone outside (she runs to see who is there) or if she sees food!  She doesn’t care about cats at all; she lives in harmony with the one in her foster home and just ignores it.

Magdalena does not need to have a canine companion.  While she is a little leary of new dogs in initial meetings, she gets used to them, then ignores them.  She has been hanging out with dogs under 20 lbs, and the biggest one of them walked across her while she was laying on the floor.  She just looked up at her like “how rude” and laid back down.  She gets along with other dogs, yet has never tried to play with them or sought out their companionship.  She is motherly to the other young foster puppy in the home.

She will bark at people on the other side of the fence. She may be shy of new people at first as well but she hasn’t met many since she has been on maternity leave.

Magdalena is so appreciative of everything.  She is a wonderful companion dog.  She is house trained, leash trained, crate trained.  She loves people, does great with kids, cats, and other dogs.  Sound perfect?  She is!

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
