Meet Tex! This Great Pyrenees mix puppy was born around 10/10/2016. He is a friendly boy and calm for a puppy.
He has the most gorgeous and unusual gray/green eyes! His coat is short and wavy for now; judging by his fluffy tail, his coat should get longer in time. He will likely fill out to about 80 pounds when he’s full grown.
Sweet Tex came to rescue from a shelter where he was really frightened from whatever he had been through before. He quickly warmed up to his foster mom on the way home and showed her how much he enjoys riding in a car!
And he loves playing in water! He likes biting at the sprinkler and letting it spray him. We’re betting he’d love trips to a creek, pond, or lake, so he can romp knee-deep in it.
He loves being with his people. He is really focused on them, and follows them from room to room. He is in his happy place when hanging out with his humans.
Tex gets along great with other dogs. In his foster home, he enjoys being around his adult canine companions, and he has learned about the family routines from them. He would love to live with dogs who play with him and chase him.
When his foster dog brother was taken into the bathroom for a shower, Tex followed along. He stayed in the bathroom, lying next to the shower the entire time. After the bath, he sniffed his buddy and snuggled up next to him for drying and brushing time. The noise from the blow dryer did not bother him at all; he stayed the entire time, offering his support! He also behaved very well the next day during his own first bath and blow-dry.
Tex is good with cats. He is house-trained. He is working on crate training, but he really hates it! He would much prefer a home where he doesn’t have to be contained in any way.
