Meet Max, the Great Pyrenees! Just look at that smile! He is a big, lovable guy who relishes attention from people. At a whopping 94 pounds, he is still a bit thin, and will probably top out at 105 pounds. His estimate birth date is February 24, 2013.
His main focus is his humans. He loves little kids and adults, too. His favorite activity is relaxing indoors and getting lots of loving. This laid-back boy excels at lounging on cool floors. He also loves going the park and greeting everyone he sees. Like most Pyrs, he expects that all people will love him and will want to pet his gorgeous face.
He is a dream on the leash and loves his daily walk – he keeps close on the left side with a slack leash. He will even sleep quietly in your bedroom until you wake in the morning. During the day, he doesn’t bark unless he really sees something. And he doesn’t bother anything in the house.
Max is nice to cats – he just ignores them. With other dogs, it seems he could take ‘em or leave ‘em, so he might be fine as an only dog.
Likely due to his time as a stray, Max is leery of moving around in a new place, so his new family will need to be patient and help build his trust. While he gets comfortable in his new surroundings, Max needs a human to be home much of the time.
SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
