This is Ledger, born approximately July 2012, is a living beautiful story of transformation through unconditional love.  He came to rescue a scared boy. He was such a sad sight, severely underweight and with sores all over his body. We will never know what he endured in his 4 years but we know his future is full of promise. In the safety of his loving foster home Ledger has had the opportunity to slowly overcome fears, to learn and to gain confidence. In early days he was frightened of his own shadow. Sudden movements and unexpected noises made him jump out of his skin. These days when Foster Mom is vacuuming, she has to ask him to move over so she can clean that spot. He has learned to trust and he adores his humans. With all the good food and attention, Ledger has put on much needed weight and his sores are completely healed. His coat has grown in thick, soft and gorgeous.

From the very beginning Ledger has always been and still is a sweet, sweet loving boy. He attaches easily and will follow you around, checking to make sure he knows where everyone is. His favorite thing is to be touching one of his people, either lying with his head on their feet, in their laps or just leaning on them. This boy still has a lot of puppy in him. He likes to romp around and gets especially excited for lunch time. He walks great on a leash and does well with other dogs.  Ledger knows several commands: sit, stay, bed, treat, walk, eat, water, ride, potty just to name a few. He even knows the names of his foster family members. As smart as he is, he makes everyone laugh as he does not quite seem to understand his size and will bonk into things, knock objects over with his wagging tail and might accidentally step on you when he comes to ask for a head scratch. He’s just a big ole’ cuddle boy. It will not be easy for Foster Mom to say goodbye to Ledger. “Ledger is by far the sweetest, most loving pup we have ever had. He only wants to please and be loved.”

She has promised to find the very best home for him. He will be happiest in a home where someone is available to him. He hopes to find someone who understands he hasn’t always had it so good. Someone who will be patient as he settles in a new environment again. Someone he can trust and love on.
