Meet Baxter! This charmer is super cute and sweet! He was born around 5/21/2017.

A local shelter found him as a stray, then he was released to our rescue group. Poor baby had an eye ulcer that needed surgery right away to save his eye. The surgery went well, he’s healing nicely, and his fabulous gray eyes will be back to normal soon.

Even on his first car ride – from the shelter to his foster home - he was already relaxed and happy.

Baby Baxter loves everyone he meets! He is great with kids and dogs and loves to play! He is inquisitive, bouncy, and fun. His favorite activity is joining his human on various excursions, wherever they might be. When his energy is spent, he loves to be cuddled.

He loves playing with his doggy buddy in his foster home. He follows the older dog everywhere, imitating his every move.

Baxter is looking for a home where he can continue his training with someone who is patient and allows a mistake every now and then. A home where he can always be social, meeting as many new people as possible. A home with a playful canine companion. A home that will give him all the attention and love he desires.

He won’t be a puppy forever. In the right home, he is going to become a magnificent dog. He is crate trained, working on his house training and leash.

There is a lot for a puppy to learn so he will need to find a home where someone is very available to him in these early days. Like all small puppies, he will need someone who can be home with him a lot and provide him with love, patience and boundaries to help him become a loyal companion.

Baxter is available only in the Dallas/Fort Worth area on a foster-to-adopt basis until his neuter is performed. If not adopted by that time (around 09/01/2017), he will be available for adoption throughout the U.S.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION OF THIS PUPPY:
    1) THIS PUPPY WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN A HOME WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor.
     2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day.  Please do not apply for this puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not good situation for you or the puppy.
     3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly.
     4) This puppy is not a livestock dog.  He/she must be a family pet that is allowed inside the home.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
