Meet Harrison Ford!  This beautiful Great Pyrenees was born around July 1, 2016.  He is a strong, solid boy.  His full adult weight will probably be around 110 pounds!

When he first came into rescue at age 7 months, sweet Harrison he was a scrawny, shivering, scared 36 pounds.  He endured horrific conditions as a young pup.  To top it off, he also had distemper.  These circumstances left him emotionally and perhaps neurologically scarred.  He is very cautious; he is afraid of loud noises and any change in his environment.

Sweet Harrison has transformed beautifully under the loving care of his foster family.  His coat has become thick and plush, and he’s up to a healthy 95 pounds!  He still has a little growing to do – a little taller, a little more filled out.

He loves hanging out and playing with the other three big dogs in his current home.  He loves going for walks around the neighborhood.  However, he is not yet ready to face all of his fears outside a home.  He is scared for his life when off-leash at a dog park, so dog parks are absolutely out of the question for him for now.   He does ride very nicely in a car.

Handsome Harrison is great with older kids, about age 13 and over.  He is initially afraid of strangers and doesn’t let them touch him right away.  He warms up to house guests after a few days, but with much trepidation.

He needs a very special adopter to help him along his road toward emotional healing.  He needs a quiet, nurturing household.  A person(s) with lots of love and patience.  His foster family has made great progress in getting Harrison to trust humans and gain confidence. He is very loving with his foster mom, and he likes the rest of foster family,

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere.
